What a lip lift changes
With age, or simply through inherited anatomy, the distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip can be long, so the lip looks thin, flat or turned in and little of the upper teeth shows at rest. A subnasal lip lift removes a carefully measured strip of skin just beneath the nose, shortening this distance and gently turning the lip upward. What can move the price
Most lip lifts fall within the published fee. Your plan may differ if you would like it combined with another facial procedure, such as upper blepharoplasty (from £5,000 under local anaesthetic) or a mini facelift; if you have had previous surgery or permanent filler in the lip; or if you would prefer sedation or a general anaesthetic, which would take place at Deansgate Hospital, Manchester, and add hospital fees.
Comparing the cost with lip filler
Lip filler and a lip lift do different jobs:
- Lip filler: adds volume and is temporary, so it needs repeat treatments to maintain. At CLNQ, dermal fillers are provided by CLNQ’s non-surgical doctors, not by Mr Nassab, and are quoted separately.
- Lip lift: shortens the upper lip and changes its shape and show. It is a one-off procedure, although the face continues to age naturally.

Scar and recovery
Swelling and tightness are normal for the first one to two weeks, and the lip may look over-lifted at first before settling. Stitches are removed after about a week.
