How a skinny BBL differs
A standard Brazilian butt lift relies on harvesting enough fat to add meaningful volume. Slimmer patients often do not have that much to spare, so a skinny BBL is planned differently. The aim is refinement rather than a dramatic increase: improving the curve of the hip, softening hip dips and adding shape to the upper buttock with the fat that is available. Harvesting is often spread across several areas, such as the flanks, back, abdomen and inner thighs, to collect enough without creating contour irregularities. More detail is on the skinny BBL page.
What is included in the fee
The skinny BBL fee starts from £11,500 and typically covers:
- Surgeon: planning, liposuction of donor areas and fat grafting by Mr Nassab.
- Anaesthetist: the consultant anaesthetist’s fee for your general anaesthetic.
- Hospital and theatre: surgery at Deansgate Hospital, Manchester, with theatre time, nursing care and your stay.
- Compression garment: a garment to support the liposuction areas while swelling settles.
- Routine follow-up: post-operative reviews with Mr Nassab and the nursing team.

Skinny BBL compared with a standard BBL

The lower starting fee reflects the smaller volume being grafted in many skinny BBL plans. However, harvesting from several small areas can take time, and a quote depends on your individual anatomy rather than the label.
Safety and technique
Buttock fat grafting carries specific risks, and technique is central to safety. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) has issued guidance that fat should be placed only in the subcutaneous layer, above the gluteal muscle, and never into or beneath the muscle. Mr Nassab follows this guidance. Other risks include bleeding, infection, fat necrosis (firm lumps), uneven contour, seroma and venous thromboembolism. Some grafted fat is reabsorbed in the months after surgery, so the final shape is judged at around six months. Sudden one-sided leg swelling or calf pain needs same-day assessment by your GP or NHS 111; chest pain or breathlessness means calling 999.
What can change your quote
Your quote may differ from the starting fee depending on:
- Number of donor areas: how many areas need to be harvested to collect usable fat.
- Volume and areas grafted: whether the plan includes hip dips and hips as well as the buttocks.
- Previous liposuction: scar tissue from earlier treatment can make harvesting slower.
- Combined procedures: any additional surgery performed at the same time.
If there is too little fat for a worthwhile result, Mr Nassab will tell you honestly at consultation rather than recommend surgery that is unlikely to meet your aims.
Recovery and ongoing costs
Expect bruising and swelling in the donor areas and a period of avoiding direct pressure on the buttocks, often with a cushion when sitting. Most people return to desk-based work after about two weeks, and strenuous exercise is usually avoided for around six weeks. Keeping your weight stable matters, because grafted fat behaves like fat elsewhere in the body. A second session is occasionally discussed if more shape is wanted later, and this would be quoted separately.
Finance and surgery abroad
Finance may be available through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status. Very low-cost BBL packages abroad have raised safety concerns in the UK, and they rarely include local aftercare.
