Why a deep plane lift is priced differently
A deep plane facelift releases and repositions the SMAS layer and the tissues beneath it as a single unit, rather than tightening the surface layer alone. This means longer theatre time, a general anaesthetic and meticulous dissection around the branches of the facial nerve. It is usually combined with a neck lift through the same incisions. What is included in the price
Your quote is intended to cover the whole surgical episode, so there are no separate bills on the day:
- Surgeon’s fee: the operation itself, including planning, marking and the neck lift component.
- Anaesthetist’s fee: a consultant anaesthetist who looks after you throughout surgery and in recovery.
- Hospital and theatre: theatre time, nursing care, the hospital stay and medications given while you are an inpatient.
- Garments and dressings: the supportive head and neck garment and initial dressings.
- Routine follow-up: wound checks, stitch removal and scheduled reviews as you heal.
Anything not included, such as an additional procedure you choose to add, will be listed clearly in writing before you book.
The consultation fee

Why very low prices abroad carry risks
Packages advertised overseas at a fraction of UK prices can look attractive, but the saving often reflects what is left out. A deep plane lift needs close monitoring in the first days for bleeding (haematoma) and early review of the nerves and skin. Flying soon after facial surgery increases the risk of blood clots, and if a problem develops once you are home, the overseas team may be unavailable. Correcting complications, or revising an unsatisfactory result, can cost far more than the original operation.
