A Practising UK Consultant — Not Just “British-Trained”
Many surgeons in Dubai describe themselves as British-trained. It is worth understanding what that does — and does not — tell you. Training in the UK at some point in the past is not the same as being held to UK standards today.
Mr Reza Nassab is a currently practising UK Consultant Plastic Surgeon. He remains on the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery — a live, continuously audited status requiring annual appraisal and five-yearly revalidation — and operates every month at Deansgate Hospital in Manchester. He serves on the Council of BAAPS, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, helping set the standards other surgeons follow.
In Dubai, he holds a DHA licence and performs surgery at Quttainah Specialized Hospital. Patients in the UAE receive exactly the same consent process, surgical standards, implant choices and structured aftercare as his UK patients — because it is the same practice, not a franchise or a memory of one.
